Our New Learning Center Opens in Dorchester!

On Monday, November 4, 2013, Operation P.E.A.C.E. proudly opened a new Learning Center in the Codman Square neighborhood of Dorchester, MA. Residing in the Noral Apartments at 15 Norfolk St., this new site includes a school-age education center, cooking space, arts and crafts area, children's reading library and computer lab.

Wingate Companies, our long-time supporter, contributed funds towards the new learning center. "We are grateful to all those who joined together to make this center a reality," said Mark Schuster, principal of Wingate Companies. "Based on the warm welcome we have received from the Dorchester community, we are confident that Operation P.E.A.C.E. will become a vibrant neighborhood resource for local families to learn key life skills."

Welcome to the Peterborough Senior Center!

We are excited to announce that effective November 1, 2013, the Peterborough Senior Center (PSC) is now part of Operation P.E.A.C.E. Our community partner, Fenway Community Development Corporation (FCDC) approached the Operation P.E.A.C.E a few years ago about managing the operations and programs of PSC. After thoughtful discussion and collaboration, we decided to manage the PSC as we are already serving many seniors and the work aligns well with our mission.

To mark the occasion, many seniors and staff members from FCDC and Operation P.E.A.C.E. had a Halloween lunch party at PSC. We thanked the outgoing director, Christine Araujo and part-time assistant Santosh Sharma for their dedicated service to the seniors over the past year. Operation P.E.A.C.E. is looking forward to building upon their good work.

We will continue to deliver engaging, healthy, and family-oriented programs for the well-being of our cherished seniors!
