Coordinator for After School Program
& Summer Youth Academy
This position requires a strong professional
whose track record demonstrates excellent communication.
Our After-School program is located at a separate site from
our main office. We are looking for someone with demonstrated
managerial experience and strong leadership skills with
the ability to take full ownership of our Youth Program.
The program has 15 children registered between the ages
of 5 to 10 years old. Operation P.E.A.C.E. strives to be
sensitive to the children’s diverse family situations.
Our After-School is designed to be a safe and nurturing
place for these children to come to.
We have EXCITING Programs in MUSIC, MEDIA, and VISUAL ARTS!!
Our main goal is to teach children in the community our
core values: PEACE, RESPONSIBILITY & TEAMWORK!
We also have a very successful internship program with colleges
in the Boston area. The interns create a curriculum and
lead their activities 4-5 days a week.
Youth Coordinator Responsibilities:
* Report directly to Executive Director
* Provide a nurturing environment for the supervision of
approximately 15 children.
* Supervise the Assistant Youth Coordinator, and college
interns curriculum activities
* Design, schedule, and implement programs and activities
for each school semester and summer program.
* Oversee day-to-day operation of the After School Program
and Summer Program, reporting daily and weekly to the Executive
Director as needed.
* Maintain responsible policies and establish excellent
rapport with parents.
* Monitor, organize and keep organized files on youths.
* Interview and supervise staff, interns, and volunteer
personnel.
* Coordinate the schedule of the college volunteering programs.
* Attend weekly staff and parent advisory meetings.
* Must be able to completely ensure the safety, care, and
education of our children, and immediately report any potential
child abuse to the Executive Director and appropriate agencies.
Activity Duties:
* Provide or oversee daily activities for the children in
the program that contributes to the care, growth and development
of the school-aged child.
* Plan positive, constructive lesson plans for youths
* Assist children with their homework one hour per day and
ensure that children are always working on constructive
learning activities the remainder of the day.
* Maintain a daily activities plan book.
* Keep the Youth Center clean and organized.
* Ensure disciplinary policy and immediately work together
with parents and the Executive Director to resolve any behavior
problems.
* Create a clear channel of communication with parents,
children, and Executive Director.
Health and Safety Duties
* Must be present in the childcare room with the children
at all times during program hours except in the case of
an emergency.
* Ensure that there are at least two permanent staff members
with children at all times.
* Follow procedures to safeguard the sanitary health and
safety of the children, including playground safety rules,
and rules regarding emergency procedures and the use of
equipment and supplies.
* Keep a clean, safe organized environment.
* Added plus if you hold current certificates in CPR, First
Aid, and Child Abuse Reporting Training.
Schedule/Pay:

Monday-Friday 2-6PM
25-30 hours per week
$15 per hour
Summer Academy Schedule/Full Time
Monday-Friday 8-5PM
40 hours per week
$15 per hour
