Our Programs

Afterschool Youth Center
The Youth Center provides a safe place for children from the Fenway to go at the end of their school day. Our qualified educational staff provides youth with caring supervision and educational support, including daily assistance with their homework. The youth program places a strong emphasis on literacy, math, computer technology, leadership development, and the arts.

The Summer Academy
Our Summer Academy keeps youth off the streets and engaged in safe, constructive activities. We provide exceptional educational support and hands-on learning opportunities for at-risk children. By providing supervised tutoring in math and literacy, we ensure continued learning throughout the summer. Our exciting curriculum of arts and crafts, games, and field trips to foster opportunities for leadership development.

Community Open Access
Our state-of-the-art media center offers Community Open Access hours with a qualified instructor to teach computer training and skill development for our culturally diverse community. Whether it’s children researching the Internet for their homework, Russian and Spanish speakers using computer programs to improve their English skills, unemployed parents learning to email their resumes to prospective employers, or senior citizens getting email accounts for the first time, our Open Access hours offer something for everyone.

Senior Programs

Many of the seniors in our community have never learned to use a computer. Operation P.E.A.C.E. offers senior citizens specialized one-on-one basic computer training with the advantage to learn at their own pace. Seniors learn how to use a mouse, keyboard, and create documents before advancing to the Internet and communicating via email. We also collaborate with the Peterborough Senior Center to offer a recreational and cultural enrichment program to create an active community of seniors in the Fenway.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Our ESL program provides hands-on practical language training for children, adults, and seniors whose principal language is not English. Through individual or group instruction, linguistically-diverse speakers enroll in our free ESL beginning or intermediate classes to speak, read and write English for everyday use and empowerment.

Art Gallery
Our PEACE Gallery offers aspiring artists, including youth, adults, and senior citizens the opportunity to share their art with the community. These residents wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to exhibit in a traditional gallery. By exhibiting on the wall space of Operation P.E.A.C.E, local artists also have the opportunity to use our facilities for art receptions and social events that increase artistic and cultural enrichment in our diverse community.

Community Outreach
Operation P.E.A.C.E. is fortunate to have some of the nation’s finest colleges, hospitals, and teaching centers at our fingertips. Our organization is successful due to its commitment to promote Partnerships in Education And Community Enrichment (P.E.A.C.E.). We strive to collaborate with local resources to provide our diverse community with the opportunity to succeed. We also would not be successful without the generous support of our volunteers and assistance from local businesses, other organizations, and from caring people in the community. If you would like to get involved, please contact our Executive Director at 617-267-1054.
